Natalie Bright brings more than 30 years of experience advancing the interests of Kansas businesses and associations, working to foster a strong, competitive, and forward-looking business climate. Her expertise spans workforce and human resource development, economic and business growth, taxation, insurance, judicial reform, and transportation policy.
A graduate of the University of California–Riverside with a joint degree in Business Administration and Political Science, Natalie earned her law degree from Washburn University School of Law in 1998.
That same year, she launched her lobbying career with the Kansas Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In 1999, she transitioned into contract lobbying and, in 2008, co-founded Bright and Carpenter Consulting, Inc. with fellow Washburn alum Marlee Carpenter.
Under their leadership, BCC manages three statewide associations—the Kansas Society for Human Resource Management (KS SHRM), Travel Association of Kansas (TIAK) and the Kansas Economic Development Alliance (KEDA)—and represents a broad range of clients before the Kansas Legislature, including cities, nonprofits, and chambers of commerce.
Throughout her career, Natalie has been instrumental in shaping meaningful legislative reforms, including major updates to Kansas Workers Compensation and Unemployment Insurance laws. She continues to play an active role in statewide policy discussions and coalitions focused on tax, economic & workforce development, local government, health care, immigration, unemployment, and workers’ compensation reform.
Natalie is licensed to practice law in Kansas and lives in Shawnee with her husband, Kevin, and their four children.
